A Day In Chattanooga

Hello friends, We are a small family that likes to travel and experience new places. About 2 hours away from Nashville is a place called Chattanooga. This city is a great (short) road trip and has excellent food, lots of kid friendly activities and a pet friendly hotel that is really nice.

When we travel and are able to drive places we typically always bring our dog Jackson "Moose" with us as well. We stayed at the Westin Chattanooga for two nights for a couple of reasons:

-Pet friendly

-Dog walk area (also kid friendly place cause its fenced in)

-Street parking if you can find some right out front

-Large hotel rooms

-POOL (heated, outdoor)

We like to walk around and take in local spots so we always make sure we have transportation for Dash our toddler (also to keep him restrained and not "dashing" off into the road). We first grabbed smoothies from one of our favorite spots and then headed to the pool. Our trips usually revolve around what are we going to eat since Mike has allergies and we are always on the hunt for great food and a family friendly atmosphere. There really is so much to do that this trip we didn't even get to the kid friendly activities since we spent our time by the pool soaking up the family time. But here are a couple of things you can do in The Noog:

-Creative Discovery Museum (This is one of my fav places ever with Dash)

-Aquarium (when this place opened it had the largest freshwater aquarium in the WORLD)

-Coolidge Park (you can ride a carousel for $1)

-The Riverfront/Walking Bridge

Ok so we like food and tend to research the best options before anything else, Mike always says it's one of the most important things ha! We tend to gravitate to restaurants that have great atmospheres especially if we have Dash. Chattanooga has incredible food options and we have tried several of the restaurants. Here are a few food spots we think you must try in The Noog:

-Local Juice

-Two Ten Jack (make a reservation)

-Taqueria Jalisco

-Frothy Monkey

-Milk & Honey

-Stir (Weekend Brunch for $1 mimosas and a complimentary appetizer bar with mini cinnamon rolls)

-Main Street Meats (They don't have a kids menu but ask for the kids meat & cheese board, the chef will make it for you)

-Goodman Coffee Roasters

-Velo Coffee Roasters
